"Budo is not the felling of the opponent by force, nor is it a tool to lead the world into destruction by arms.  True Budo is to accept the spirit of the Universe, keep the peace of the world, correctly produce, protect and cultivate all beings in nature."
Morihei Ueshiba

Cleveland Aikikai and Oberlin Aikido Club will be hosting Frank Ostoff Sensei, 5th Dan, of Aikido Center of Düsseldorf on March 4 - 7, 2010 in Oberlin and Cleveland Heights. Ostoff sensei is returning to Ohio following his last year visit. That event was immensely enjoyed by many aikidoka who came from different states and countries to practice in Oberlin. Ostoff sensei holistic approach to training mind and body has a broad appeal to students of all ages and affiliations. Our March seminar will be building on that experience and beyond.

Frank Ostoff Sensei's teaching concentrates on the connection between the physical and spiritual energy for both uke and nage. The awareness for this process helps to develop relaxation, concentration and self-confidence. The object of such training is to refine one's connection, adjust body and mind alignment, and improve the relation between uke and nage.

Frank Ostoff Sensei has been studying aikido close to 30 years. His teachers included Gerhard Walter Sensei of the Aikido-Zen Institute in Berlin, Christian Tissier Sensei in Paris, and later Yamaguchi Sensei and Endo Sensei who both invited him several times to Japan to study aikido.

In addition to aikido Qigong and other means of energetic healing are his favorite fields of interest. In 2003 Frank Ostoff graduated in a master training course in the Tao Garden in Thailand and became a Certified Instructor of the Universal Tao System of Master Chia. He often incorporates this experience into aikido training.
