Andrzej Siwkiewicz Sensei began his martial arts training in 1982 in Warsaw, Poland studying Kung Fu Hung Gar style and Tai Chi Chuan. He joined Warsaw University Aikido Club in 1983. It later became Roman Hoffman Sensei Warsaw Aikido Centrum where Siwkiewicz Sensei trained till 1988. In 1989 he joined West Berlin Aikido-Zen Institute of Gerhard Walter Shihan. Among his fellow students were instructors of prominent dojos in Germany Ulrike Serak and Frank Ostoff.
 
After arriving in US, Siwkiewicz Sensei continued his aikido practice, while attending a graduate art school in Rochester, NY. In 1997 he joined Aikido Schools of Ueshiba and Cleveland Aikikai. He received his shodan in 2002 from Hiroshi Ikeda Shihan, and nidan in 2006 from Mitsugi Saotome Shihan. Siwkiewicz Sensei has been teaching in Cleveland Aikikai and Oberlin Aikido Club for the past several years. In 2006 he was appointed head instructor of Oberlin College Aikido Club.

During his frequent travels abroad and in the US he takes every opportunity to practice visiting local dojos and by attending seminars, learning from instructors and aikidokas around the world, while sharing his experience with his students in Oberlin and Cleveland Aikikai.
